iCal file not specifying correct event length

baz4096 says:
Hi

I've just added a repeating task to my RTM list and I set the estimated length of time to 15 minutes, however when I import the iCal into Google Calendar (or a text editor) the task always seems to appear as 1 hour long...Is this correct behaviour or have I done something wrong...

Any help appreciated

With the iCalendar Events feed, we set the duration of each event to be 1hr so that all tasks display on the calendar.

The reason for this is that not all tasks may have time estimates, and that the time estimate for a task isn't necessarily the same as an event duration (e.g. if a report is due at 9am and has a time estimate of 6hrs, this doesn't mean that it should show as an event for the 6hrs immediately before or after the due date -- the report may be worked on at any time).

Hope this helps!

Ahh

That would make sense... Is there any other way of setting the duration of the event for iCal purposes?

I think for the time being, I will have to enter these short events into Google Calendar directly, however I do like having a complete ToDo list in one central place (RTM).

Thanks for the assistance

Chris
