Stefan, you may need to contact your mail provider and ask them to support the + sign (it's a valid character in email addresses, but unfortunately some email clients don't allow it). Alternatively, you could sign up for an address with a provider such as Gmail, who allow forwarding -- you could setup forwarding from Gmail to your RTM address to get around this issue.
