Search this forum for "priority". The only other search result that comes up explains how to do it.

Not the OP, but that post (http://www.rememberthemilk.com/forums/gmail/4957/)
doesn't address the concern.
When adding a NEW task, you can't specify the priority in the text. eg you can't write:
Finish report, tag with work, priority 2.
The official RTM/gmail addon site (http://www.rememberthemilk.com/services/gmail/) doesn't show any examples of setting the priority that way. I tried it and "priority 2" or "set priority 2" just shows up in the Task name.
If this isn't implemented, it would be a nice improvement, and, I think, a might bit easier to parse/implement than what's already been done.

Let me give two hooves up to this suggestion, it's elegant and clean:
Pick up some milk! > sets to priority3
Pick up some milk!! > sets to priority2
Pick up some milk!!! > sets to priority1
But P:1, P:2, etc., would also work well. Should be on the shortlist for RTM's developers.
