Supported in FF for Mac?

The Gmail Browser Add-on will work with Firefox for Mac. Support for this version of Gmail was added just recently, so if you haven't already, you may need to clear your cache and restart your browser if reloading Gmail doesn't fix it.

If you're still having trouble with this, would you be able to contact us? We'd love to take a closer look at what's happening.

Also, you're correct: the panel displaying your tasks will only be available when viewing a list of emails, not when viewing an individual email.
