 | kwasi.nti says: Someone from RTM,
Let me elaborate on the situation.
Google has the Android Market Place which gives people access to apps on Android. The problem is that, while Android is open source and is appearing on many devices, the Market Place (along with Gmail, and any other Google apps) is a proprietary application, and is only available on Android devices that offer the "Google Experience." The are devices that Google has partnered with a cell phone carrier to release (eg. T-Mobile G, myTouch 3G, Motorola Droid on Verizon). Google bundles these phones with whatever apps they've written.
I have an device (Creative Zii Egg) that offers Android but not the "Google Experience". There are many others (eg. Archos 5A), and many more will be popping up, especially in 2010 as Android is adopted by more companies.
Until Google decides to make the Market Place available for everyone, we can't use your app, unless you make the ".apk" file available for everyone, or post it to one of the alternative app stores. The RTM app is designed for my device yet I can't use it, not because it doesn't work or because I don't have a Pro account, because the further step is to have one of the few Android devices that Google has had the time and resources to design and do QA for. I've had to use Astrid for RTM because the apk is available on their site.
Please make RTM available somewhere else and let me support you and get my RTM pro account back, now that I use my Android device to be productive.
