Staying Motivated
I track everything I need to do around my house from the mundane -- "load washing machine" (daily) to the more obscure "change furnace filter" (after 90 days).
But that's such a large list. When i start tackling it on a Saturday, it's easy to get burnt out.
But thanks to the automatically updating nature of the desktop app, it helps me to stay motivated by having RTM open in two browser windows. One, about 2/3 of the screen, shows me the tasks to do. (I have lists and rooms and other ways of segmenting those.)
The other, in a smaller window (about 1/3 of the screen) shows me a smart list called "Completed" (search for "completed:today"). Each time I complete a task, not only does it disappear from my list, but just as satisfying, it blinks onto the top of the other list, complete with the time I completed it.
