Attach documents to tasks

I would like to be able to attach a document (pdf) or link a document saved on my hard drive or network to a task so that I can easily track down additional information needed for that task.

If the document was a pdf, I'd upload it somewhere on the web instead of my hard drive so I could get to it from any computer. My personal choice would be drop.io, but there are lots of good choices. If it's a WORD document or something else that must be edited with desktop software, then Raijan's solution should work great.

This idea is considered similar to "Attachments for tasks", and all votes have been transferred to that idea.
