Making it pretty

gmonty says:
It would be nice to be able to upload a photo to feature on the overview page, personalise it a bit. Not exactly something vital though!

I actually included an avatar on my original design for the overview page -- unfortunately implementing it ended up being pretty low priority on our to-do list. It's still on the list though, so hopefully we might have that feature one day :) I agree that the personalisation would be nice.

You can never be too obsessed with RTM :)

Oh that's a good come back for when my girlfriend next accuses me! I have been trying to gently convert her to using it herself but its been an up hill battle! If she ever forgets something I try and use it as an opportunity but she quickly shuts me down.

Good luck with the conversion! :)

+1 to pictures, but extending this a bit, maybe even the ability to associate a picture with a list or a task. Imagery and visualisation are very powerful motivators. My lists tend to be goal-based so I'd be keen on being able to generate a 'treasure map' to show my outstanding tasks within the context of my goals.

here's an overview of treasure-mapping: http://www.innerself.com/Meditation/treasure_11142.htm

i know it's going off at a bit of tangent from a to-do list but perhaps this is something that could be done with the API? I like my 'every day' activities to be strongly linked to my core goals as this to me is the best sort of time-management i.e. focusing your time on things that matter. combining the two would be very useful (at least to me.)
