Is there a way to tag a list, so that all the tasks on the list have that tag (I mean without using the multiple edit function)

I'm an academic and would like to be able to tag lists as "research", "teaching", and "service"which are the criteria on which I am evaluated at work.

Come to think of is, being able to set default tags, dates or other information for tasks on each list would accomplish this.
