Drop down list of tags

(closed account) says:
When you go to edit the tags of a task, it'd be nice to have some way of bringing up the tags you've already made, either by a drop down menu or by some sort of text-guessing application. Showing a list of tags available in the sidebar would also work (similar to on the overview page).

I particularly like the de.licio.us style of type-ahead completion for existing tags.

Auto-complete or type ahead would be very slick

I agree. del.icio.us tagging is great.

I wanted to add my two-cents that a user-defined tag list would make things a lot easier. I usually use 2-3 tags on any given task and keep a library of about 10 tags that I use consistently. A drop-down list or checkbox field would streamline task entry dramatically.

You guys have to check out the Gmail Macros greasemonkey script at http://persistent.info/greasemonkey.

It lets you just type 'L' and they type the label you want to apply (with autocomplete as well!).

This idea is considered similar to "Show a dropdown list when you click on the tags field, then filter the list as you type", and all votes have been transferred to that idea.
