See completed & outstanding tasks together
kmander says:
One of the best qualities of a to-do list is the satisfaction of seeing that you are completing tasks. I think it would make a nice addition to be able to enable an option to show completed taks underneath outstanding ones (perhaps greyed out or with a tick graphic).

Thanks for your suggestion.
We actually tried this in our original design (we had completed tasks with lines through them like a to-do list on paper), but as our lists got bigger it started to get annoying to see the tasks we'd completed 3 months ago.
So that's how we ended up with a separate 'completed' view that shows every task you ever completed in reverse chronological order -- and it can be pretty satisfying to review the completed list sometimes :)

Could you make this an option? That is, the ability to show completed tasks in the list.

How about also having an option to purge completed items (# ofmonths/ yearly/ by # of items, etc)?
Also if seeing a large amount of completed items is a concern, maybe a 'toggle completed' items button would be useful.
IMO, I don't care for the "disconnect" that there is between completed and existing tasks.

Rather than purge them, here's an idea...
As I used RTM for longer and longer, I realised I was loading many hundreds of dormant tasks over and over. So I created an Archive list, and moved them all over there, and then archived the Archive. Now I never see them, unless I need to track something down. It works well.
If you do archive, remember that repeating and recurring tasks are linked to one another, so they cannot be archived in this manner.
