RTM is a great program, but I want more out of my overview than just tasks that have dates. I would love to be able to mark which lists show up, or even better, individual tasks, without giving them a time (perhaps a default "today"?). Mostly I want my inbox to show up in the overview because those are things that have not yet been processed that need to be moved to another list (at least in my system). I'm sure other users have ideas to add to this as well!

If you bring in a smartlist feed into iCal or Gcal, you can use those calendars to print just what you want, nicely formatted. I do that all the time and love it.

[Yes, I know it's a workaround, but it's free and easy, and accomplishes what you seek very nicely.]

Many people have spoken up over the years asking for enhancements to the overview. The usual suggestion is to follow rajjan's advice above - skip it and use the lists. Given the pace of development, I am inclined to agree, but I think it's interesting how often the issue comes up.

This idea is considered similar to "Customize which list tabs are shown on the Overview screen", and all votes have been transferred to that idea.
