Use Firefox 3's new offline features

Okay, I'm not 100% sure this is correct, but as far as I understand, the Firefox 3 features will allow web apps to go offline like Google Gears, as long as they put some code in their web app to enable it. If that's true, it would be nice because people who already have the latest version of Firefox wouldn't need to install another extension to use the offline features...right?

Firefox 3 does have offline web app support, so it would be great if sites like RTM could take advantage of it .
