iCal Feed and event duration

From a conversation in the help forum, we've learned the reason why the iCal feed specifically puts in 1 hour for every event.
I would like to put in a suggestion that if the duration is between 15 minutes and 2-3 hours, the duration is correctly updated in the iCal feed.... or perhaps there could be a user setting to say whether or not we want to keep the durations for a certain feed. I have one smart list that's purely for appointments and time specific tasks (which generally have a duration).
I don't know how useful this would be for other people, but I tend not to put in an estimated duration in this particular list since I know it won't matter on the calendar (where I tend to view these events). I'd be interested in seeing if anyone else would like to see this feature, cause it's nice but not something I can't live without.

having a duration would be exceptionally helpful. A lot of tasks have fixed timelines and for those, it would be great to have a duration field (as opposed to estimate). Right now, I have to use a separate calendar to track those types of tasks.

I use the duration and due-time to plot tasks troughout my working day.
The iCal-feed, as it works today, is not very helpful as the RTM task "Prepare meeting" with a due time of 14:30, and duration of 30 min will show up very differently in Gcal: it _starts_ at 14:30 and ends at 15:30.
I also understand why events are set to last for 1 hour, but I don't estimate time like that - I plan my day.
Even if we are forced to continue with the 1 hour-tasks, at least I'd like the task to _end_ at its due-time. I am sure this is possible?
That said, even if Gcal is important to me, RTM is a true blessing to get trough my working-day and plethora of projects!

This one has been bugging me too! If I have a task which will take 15 minutes and it is due at 5pm this evening, it is irritating to have it show up on my iCal calendar as being 1 hour starting at 5pm, and finishing - ie, due at 6pm.
A "duration" field which was picked up by the iCal feed would solve this problem.
