Sub-Tasks
wwendorf says:
The addition of subtasks would be really nice. For example, if you are in charge of a project with multiple steps to it, you can check off each subtask. Once the last subtask is complete, then Remember the Milk could auto-check the master task.
The other feature that would be important is an order field so that you could order the sub-tasks according to the order that they need to be completed. In fact, an order field would actually be nice for any task group in general.
Thanks so much,
Wade

I second this request! Would be very helpful for major projects at my work that I have to do in steps.

This would also help in smaller daily assignments!

this is a great idea

Okay I can see that sub tasks can be a problem and cluttering. How about giving us the ability to add check-boxes in the notes?

I 49th this request.
I just started using RTM because of the Gmail integration, (sick of waiting for Google) and subtasks would be an extremely helpful addition.

I still believe the user needs to have an option to view the list with sub-tasks or plain list as it is now...
Maybe have an option on each tasks to link to another task... and have a "view sub-tasks" option.

I just started using RTM. So far love it. I am in total agreement that sub-tasks is a great idea. Essentially nobody offers a simple project management tool. Check out Goalenforcer. I love the visual but it lacks task duration.

Try using a combination of tags and the url for a specific list. I don't know of any easy way to do it at the moment, but if you look up the atom feed for a list and change the word atom to home, you have a link that opens up to that list.

Yes.. nice idea, i thought of this to :)
And i have a small addition to it :
With each completion of a subtask there should be a percentage next to the parent task that gets automatically recalculated.
ex:
2 subtasks of 3 completed => parent task percentage 66%
Maybe the percentage should be calculated by considering the task priorities too. A task with higher priority should raise the percentage more than one with lower priority.
Excuse my english.. :)

I regret that I just posted this same idea in another thread before I found this one (somehow my first search didn't bring it up..!).
Anyway, I agree that this would be exceedingly helpful, especially when planning small events or listing out what errands you need to run.
Thanks!
