Date of task creation?

(closed account) says:
My idea:

When a task is selected is should show when the task was created as well as the other dates.

It seems that it does in some cases (like sending the task in through e-mail) and not in others (like adding them at the RTM site).

There's currently one way to see the dates that tasks were added -- it's a bit of a workaround but I thought I'd mention it anyway :)

If you use the advanced search and use any of the 'added' search operators, it will display the creation dates in the search results (in the task properties).

For example, you can search for:

addedBefore:today
addedWithin:"3 months of today"

I know it's not the requested feature, but just thought I'd mention it in case anyone found it useful.

Hope this helps!

Combined with Emily's suggestion,
create a "SMART LIST" so you can automatically see:
- added:today
or
- addedWithin:"2 days of today"
or
- addedWithin:"1 week of today"
or
- .......

Despite the automated search, RTM should have:

SORT BY

date added

I'd add that one of the columns I'd like to routinely see is the "age" of a specific item. It would be great if it were as smart about displaying that as it is about parsing dates (e.g. 1 day old, 1 week old, etc.).

I would love to be able to sort by creation date, but I did not know Emily's trick, so now at least I have a way to see the info, which is part of the way there. Thanks for the tip, Emily.

Yes, thanks for the workaround, at least the data is there... this is helpful but ideally I'd see the DATE AND TIME, and ideally it would be viewable in a column so I could sort based on it.

That way I could use RTM to track phone calls I owe. Which makes sense, when you add an iPhone to the mix.

The time these calls arrive is important, so I don't wait too long to call them back.

This idea is considered similar to "Show the task creation date", and all votes have been transferred to that idea.
