iCal calendar sync option

Some tasks straddle the to-do world and calendar world - such as Birthdays and meetings. It would be really useful if you could choose to have the tasks in a list sync to iCal as calendar entries instead of (or in addition to) to-do entries (without affecting the RTM web interface).
This could be flagged at a list level or an entry level and would affect nothing apart from how these entries showed up in iCal etc.

I don't think birthdays or meetings are things you would have here... maybe "buy a gift for X" or "prepare Y for meeting" but they both fit in the to-do list.
Is there any reason that you would not put those things directly into iCal? Maybe I missed something?
BTW if you are running Tiger, put birthdays into the address book and they all show up in iCal automagically.

Well only that iCal doesn't allow you to share across multiple users unless you spend the $$$ on a .Mac subscription, so having a shared toDo list that also allowed for the odd diary entry here would be a useful thing.

It would be really great if we can have something to sync the RTM data with local iCal. May be we can have something that can sync the local iCal with RTM.

I just read this thread and perhaps this is covered on a different one.
in addition to the functionality mentioned above, what are the chances of actually making changes via iCal for when i'm at home and make changes on the website from work or wherever else i go.
