This is via Anthropic's Claude MCP connector for Remember the Milk

What I need: Confirmation on whether this is an auth/token issue on RTM's side post-reconnect, or an API/MCP server issue.

I am a long time Pro user, and although I have never stopped using RTM, I have tended to ignore it a bit over the past year (or two or three?). I have to say, the MCP server support has rekindled my use of RTM. I am a software developer, so jumping headfirst into this AI world is required. I am currently on a big learning/certification path. With RTM connected to an AI tool (I'm using a local Hermes agent, but you can use Claude, ChatGPT, etc.), I pointed the agent to a list of courses and told it to create a schedule in RTM to keep myself on task. Boom! I have a dedicated education task list with due dates spread out over the next month. My goal no longer overwhelming.

I'm now looking at buying more Pro accounts for others in our company. The MCP server support is going to keep RTM relevant for a long time to come, and the combination of RTM and AI agents will keep our small company more efficient, I'm sure.

RTM is definitely looking forward. The MCP server support was not trivial to implement, I'm sure, and its addition has strengthened my already high level of confidence in the platform.

Let me rephrase your suggestion: to leave RTM, a user first has to upgrade to a Pro subscription, which is only available as a yearly plan. Then, in addition to getting access to the Claude environment, they have to set up an MCP server on their machine and go through the API/OAuth setup process. All of that only to discover that the integration doesn't even work if they have Google's Enhanced Protection enabled.

The topic author already has Pro, but not everyone does, nor does everyone plan to extend their subscription while preparing to leave. Some users also have Enhanced Protection enabled, and from my personal experience, the trade-off is well worth it. It would be better to find a solution that works for most people rather than patching things together on a case-by-case basis.
I have something working (test phase), but currently it still lives behind a series of Google security warnings and breaks with Enhanced Protection — both of which go away once the app is hosted and verified by Google. More effort than I'm willing to put in without knowing there's actual demand for it.

There might be better tools, but usually those are barn size solutions 🏠, not a cow size 🐄
Question is, how long it will be like that, as it's not that hard to make something similar or even better. It's more a financial thing that a technical issue.

I really want to, as I haven't found anything better than RTM. I've been limping along with another solution (that's crappy and I'm not giving free advertising to), but I realllllllllly want an excuse to return to the cow. 🐄

Great find. I wonder whether this is a bug or intended behavior, since the help page just says “When on a list”.

Not sure if this will ever make it into the app itself, but I put together a small bookmarklet (a bookmark that runs JavaScript instead of opening a page) that automatically handles the ESC+h sequence, so h works even when a task is selected.

Details, code, and setup instructions (this takes about as long as adding a new custom bookmark):

One note before using it: first try pasting the GitHub repo link into an AI assistant (ChatGPT, Claude, etc.) and explicitly ask it to review the bookmarklet code and explain what it does in plain English. It’s a simple way to sanity-check the script and make sure there’s nothing harmful or suspicious in it.

If that doesn’t work in a given tool, then just paste the bookmarklet code directly and ask for the same explanation.

If you spot a bug or unexpected behavior, feel free to open an issue on GitHub or reply here.

At first I thought this was not working for me. I would hit 'h' and nothing would happen.

Today I discovered that 'h' only works when you have NO task selected (in the right pain in the web app). If you have a task selected (also indicated by a filled-in checkmark in the left pane) then 'h' does nothing.

But if you deselect the task (eg, by hitting ESC) then 'h' works fine.

Which is interesting because clicking the 'completed' or 'incomplete' links at the top right of the list does not have such a requirement. It will auto-deselect the task you have selected and make the switch.

I personally wish 'h' worked that way, but the key sequence ESC, h works very well.

(In case anyone else notices this behavior and is confused.)

You could consider using services like Google Drive, and share it. For example:
1. Select the file you want to share.
2. Click Share or Share Share.
3. Under “General access,” click the Down arrow Down.
4. Choose Anyone with the link.
5. To decide what role people will have, select Viewer, Commenter, or Editor.
6. Click Copy link.
7. Click Done.
8. Paste the link in an email or any place you want to share it.

And then you can share it either with RTM support or general audience here if you want more eyes looking at it (depending on your privacy and content that can be seen on the recording).

I've experienced a perhaps related issue since July 2025. I'm unable to create or edit MilkScript scripts in the Windows desktop app. When I try, I am presented with the correct screen, but there's no field where I can actually add text for a script.

By contrast, this works properly when I use the web app.

I opened a support case (and I even provided a video showing the behavior) but it was never resolved.

Not sure if this is the same issue but thought I'd share.

To help us track this down, would you be able to open the JavaScript Console while you try to reproduce the issue, and see if any errors or warnings come up?

In the Windows app, you can access it under Help > Developer Tools, and select the Console section. In Chrome, you can open it from the browser's developer tools (click ⋮ > More Tools > Developer Tools > Console tab.).

I cannot edit milkscript in Windows App and Chrome.

In the Windows app and in Chrome (web version), I cannot type in the editor at all — the cursor does not appear or only appears inconsistently, and the input field seems unresponsive.

However, the exact same MilkScript editor works fine in Firefox. There I can click into the editor and type without any issues.

So it seems to be a browser/engine issue (Chromium vs Firefox), rather than a problem with my account.

Is anyone else experiencing this? And is there a known fix or workaround?
