Meaning of "(Pending email verification.)"

What is it that's pending here? Is it verification of somebody's email address, by sending them a message and asking them to click on a link in it? Or is it verification of something else by means of an email? And if so, what exactly is being verified?

Yes, it's verification of the user's email address (they can't receive email reminders until they click on the link in the verification email we send). Hope this helps!
