Over time the little things that need fixing around the house start to blend in to the background - until I have a house guest or my mother-in-law visits. Then I blush as the nob that falls off the cabinet door surprises someone or I have to explain about the "special" way you have to plug something in to that socket.
I created a list called Holding Up the House that can keep track of each of the little things as they pop in my head, like fix the doorbell. I have priorities on each fix so it is easy to see what really needs to happen and what can wait. Then the list is shared with my husband, so anybody with a few minutes can jump on it. I look at it anytime I am at the hardware store to see if there is anything I need to pick up for the next project on the list.
Replace that pesky plug is already checked off.
