I would strongly suggest a solution I saw implemented in "Pocket Finance" app. Namely, why not enable entering the "edit date" mode by simply clicking on the right side of the task field in the task window? Clicking anywhere else (middle, left side) would still open the edit window whereas clucking on the right side (where the date of the task is given) would bring us two steps forward.
Dear fellow RTM users, do you agree with that? That'd be a very helpful feature for me and I hope for you as well :)
