Lost all tasks- how do I retrieve?

My tasks seem to have all disappeared. I had just begun using this in the last few days and had a number of completed and incomplete tasks that are no longer there. This coincided with me registering and syncing my ipad2 for the first time.

Is there a way to retrieve these?
