Have a new idea?
| emilio.bertelli says: I found one thing that should be improved: i'm quite new here, but it seems that when you set reminders in the setting section you can only set a single hour and a single day or week or whatever before for all the tasks in general, but you can't customize a single reminder for each single task.

| rhauer says: I would love to have this feature. Having different reminder times for different tasks would be very helpful
Posted 3 years ago |
abhishekg says:Me too. I would love to have a different reminder setting for each task. Thanks! Posted 3 years ago |
| iamjud says: +1 Posted 3 years ago |
| mpoush says: I too would love a different reminder setting, especially one that could be tag-based. But only as the default - each instance could be edited. Posted 3 years ago |
| rmchale says: +1. Outlook had been doing this for ages.. Rmilk has become less useful for me without features like this. It would be nice for instance if work tasks could remind me at work and home tasks remind me @ home. Or if 1 task could have a 1 hr reminder and another a 15 minute reminder Posted 3 years ago |
| ken.weirman says: +1 Posted 3 years ago |
| heggaton says: I can't believe that this request is continually being ignored.
Posted 3 years ago |
| guice says: I would add my voice again for the inclusion of this feature as I have many times before. Posted 3 years ago |
| mpricemitchell says: Add me to this list as well. RTM is so customizable for the many ways people set up their tasks/events/to-dos, I can't see why this couldn't be implemented. Posted 3 years ago |
| corwin78 says: I am with you - this is great idea. I would be very grateful too, if will be possible use different types of reminder (email, jabber, sms, etc.) for different kinds of tasks, e.g. whole list of task for current day by email at morning and then reminder for task before it should be done via sms, IM. | mahinirb says: And a big +1 for this comment: Posted 3 years ago |
| christianmagill says: This is definitely an important feature. Can we get an idea if this is even being considered? Posted 3 years ago |
| draguzet says: This function is MUST ! Posted 3 years ago |
| draguzet says: Reminder can not be predefined when depends on the situation in question, the location .... it depends on when I'll put a reminder. Posted 3 years ago |
| altikal says: I also need this bigtime. Ill tell you why, my memory is awfull so i when i go to letctures i write my stuff down, but will forget to read them. So i need to have a reminder for each lecture to read the notes 1 day after + 1 week after + 1month after + 3months after so they are commited to my long term memory. If your planning on this then ill happily be a beta tester. Posted 3 years ago |
| anna.santos says: I want the same thing. I just found out I can't get the reminders the way I want them. I LOVED this program but I really need the reminders. That is the whole point of me putting info in the program so it can be my brain for me. If I have to remember anyway then it didn't help. Posted 3 years ago |
| anna.santos says: I just did the google work around posted above and ran into the google problem where reminders are not sent to other emails than your gmail address. SOOOO frustrated. Posted 3 years ago |

| tytyzimmy says: This feature is EXTREMELY needed... it would be nice to make it similar to the reminders in google calendar, which allows you to set up to 5 (I think) custom reminders for each task and you choose the amount of time before or after the task when the reminder will be sent (via email, text, or pop-up). Posted 2 years ago |
| lau.hayden says: I would like to have different kinds of reminders... like MSN vs. Email: MSN for tasks with "due-time"... and email for tasks due tomorrow. Posted 2 years ago |
| kenshiro.saotome says: I concur. Posted 2 years ago |
jayaallen says:And another vote for reminders that could be tailored to the task. I was used to this with Palm Desktop / Palm Treo and miss it with RTM. Posted 2 years ago |

valdesan says:Come on RTM people I paid my dues. Please add this it would be so useful Posted 2 years ago |
| crismtz says: Agree with everybody above. I would really like it Posted 2 years ago |
| trante says: i'd also be happy with this feature! Posted 2 years ago |
| vj777 says: Id like to have email reminders off by default, but be able to set a reminder on certain, specific tasks - otherwise I'd just be spamming myself ! Posted 2 years ago |
| jamie.mccoy says: even reminders by lists would be helpful - I want personal reminders sent to a specific email but work reminders set to another ... Posted 2 years ago |
lars_m says:+1 ...no, +1.000.000!!! Posted 2 years ago |
halloleo says:yep, would be a great enhancement - my workaround when i really, really need this, is creating multiple reminders with the same subject and different due times. Posted 2 years ago |

| jhoxeng says: I'm brand new to Remember The Milk. Just set up my second task and ran into this problem. I think it's going to be a deal breaker for me. Good-bye, I'll check back in a few months. Posted 2 years ago |
| samirkshah says: +1 Posted 2 years ago |
| jamie.ward says: gCal is has the best reminder system. Get with this simple request RTM. Posted 2 years ago |
| volunteercoordinator says: Ditto. Ditto. Ditto. Another disappointed user. It's such an intuitive feature that it never occurred to me that RTM didn't have it for individual tasks until I was setting up my first list. In fact, the "Setting reminders" section of https://www.rememberthemilk.com/help/guide/ led me to believe this feature was already in place. Posted 2 years ago |
| johnmazz says: Thanks to Guice and Ranbarton for fighting the good fight. This topic DOES come up constantly, and never get any love from the staff. I wish they would at least tell us WHY they think this is a bad idea, why it wouldn't work or why they think it doesn't fit with their vision of RTM. Posted 2 years ago |
| relevart says: +1 Posted 2 years ago |
| roefactor says: This is the closest post I could find for this list without starting a new topic. Posted 2 years ago |

| marionhenderson says: I sometimes have tasks that take 6 months or more to achieve and others that can be done very quickly. Thus, to standardise the reminders across all tasks is just rediculous. Posted 1 year ago |
| rjglasse says: I've just migrated from text files + Remind (linux tool) and I'm enjoying RTM. However, I'm really missing individual reminder alerts for tasks, as this Remind example illustrates: Posted 1 year ago |
| guice says: This would really help my schedule. Posted 1 year ago |
| feliypcity says: +1 Posted 1 year ago |
| pjpw says: Absolute necessity which would just about make RTM the ulimate Task Manager. Posted 1 year ago |
| mpricemitchell says: Not having this feature has made me give up on my RTM account. I really like RTM, but custom reminders are a crucial feature for me and clearly a lot of other people. I was missing too many task deadlines with one reminder setup Posted 1 year ago |
jrdioko says:I'll add my name to the list. Amazing how many people have posted here! The lack of this feature is definitely noticed! Posted 1 year ago |
| ignatz says: Desperately want this feature. It would absolutely cement my love for this tool. Right now reminders serve no purpose for me. Posted 1 year ago |
| makis.antzoulatos says: I just discovered this website. In reading the description I thought it had this function. Then I started to set my page up and realized it didn't. I was so let down. A function like this is amazingly important in my work, and I imagine in many peoples lives. This feature would be so basic to add. Posted 1 year ago |
| marcus.morrisey says: This feature would convert me to a pro user Posted 1 year ago |
| mowee says: Would love this feature. Don't know why we have to wait so long for a feature like this. Posted 1 year ago |
| impunityjainne says: Please. WANT! Posted 1 year ago |
| weiduomei says: So....the question is, how many people have to ask, agree and affirm that this is a good idea before it becomes reality? Posted 1 year ago |
| shea.martin says: +1. New to RTM, shocked that this didn't exist. Posted 1 year ago |
| guice says: Keep having to come back top this one, as I keep finding I need it...frustratingly... G Posted 1 year ago |
| wzsw says: PLEASE ADD THIS!!! please Posted 1 year ago |
| jodi.mcmaster says: Let me add to the voice: Please separate the reminder by task, not as an overall preference. Without it, there's not too much incentive to moove over to RTM. Posted 1 year ago |
| wendykcpa says: I would like to see reminders for individual tasks. Thanks Posted 1 year ago |
| gefraser says: I would like this feature as well. Posted 1 year ago |
| alex_belisarius says: I'd love to see this feature implemented. RTM is a great service with excellent design and well-thought-out functionality, but without the ability to prevent it from reminding me about specific tasks, the reminders function is significantly less useful. :( Posted 1 year ago |
| m2xw says: Bump!! Posted 1 year ago |
| jwcheong says: pls add this... Posted 1 year ago |
| deuberj says: I agree, as a new user on of the first things I tried to do was set a specific reminder and found out that had to be set for all task - At first I thought there is no way this could be, since that is a basic function of all reminders systems Posted 1 year ago |
| netninja says: Please, this would complete RTM! And ensure I renew my pro account :) Posted 1 year ago |

| agoolsby says: I've been finding all kinds of ways that RTM can help me organize different lists in my life...but most of them require this functionality. Is ther *any* update on the status of this feature? I agree with @macleodks - a default is fine, but the ability to customize is really key. Posted 11 months ago |
| mauranevel says: I'm a productivity trainer and I've been recommending RTM as an alternative to Google tasks, but I didn't realize that you can't customize reminders. That's enough to make me stop recommending RTM. Posted 11 months ago |
tboddien says:I fully agree: I really miss individual reminder settings for each task. Posted 10 months ago |
| rowland.mayor says: Truly astounding that this has not been added. I will decide whether to continue as a paying member based on whether there is any movement on this feature. Posted 9 months ago |
haljor says:I'd be happy if I could just have reminders for Work tasks go to my work email address. It seems so simple, and yet... Posted 9 months ago |
| dfishershin says: Aw, geez. I just got Siri and was all excited about getting going with RTM, hit the reminder problem, looked for a solution, and - NONE! - so I'm going to be looking for a different productivity program. Posted 9 months ago |
| crispycook says: Brand new to RTM and this seems like a critical feature Posted 9 months ago |
evanroberts says:I don't need this feature that often, but it would be really nice. Posted 8 months ago |
doniago says:Given how well RTM generally syncs with Outlook, I find it quite disappointing that the reminder functionality is relatively so lacking. Posted 7 months ago |
| joleary says: I don't really need to be able to customize the reminders, but would really value being able to get separate reminders for each task (vs. the daily digest). I know I can get separate reminders if I set different times associated with each task, but that is a giant pain - is there a simpler solution? Posted 7 months ago |
| uche says: +1 Posted 6 months ago |
| ianmerin says: This is something that will tip the bucket between me getting RTM pro or settling for a different application. Posted 5 months ago |
| morewind says: Just started with RTM a couple of days ago. It's a great tool, but I was surprised at the lack of a per-task reminder setting. Posted 4 months ago |
philemonara says:+1, Now I use another Program for the stuff of which I need to be reminded... This feature would be awesome! Posted 15 weeks ago |
stpe0511 says:There is a huge difference in reminders for a presentation in school and a "buy milk"! Posted 11 weeks ago |
mkarbi says:For me, this is the only missing feature to perfection for rememberthemilk! Posted 8 weeks ago |
| johnno2 says: If I'm not mistaken, reminders seem to be an all or nothing selection. I have set up RTM for bill payments, most of which would benefit from a reminder. However, direct debits simply need to be seen in the Tasks screen without a reminder. Posted 17 days ago |
