undelete / trash can

davidcm says:
It is WAY too easy to accidentally delete tasks, without noticing that you've done so until days later. For example, if some tasks are checked and you hit the Delete key when you think you're editing the text of a task, you will instead delete all the checked tasks...WITH NO WARNING from RTM.

Suggestions:

1) Make users confirm the deletion of a task (unless there is a trash can). You can allow users to disable this default behavior in settings if you think some won't like it.

2) Add a trash can for deleted tasks, so they can be found days later and undeleted. Ideally the trash can has no expiration date, but if it does it should be at least a month like Gmail.

I thoroughly agree with this idea. the one thing that lets the excellent rtm down for me is the inability to have an archive file.
It is often useful in life to be able to refer back to past actions.

One example would be todomatrix for the blackberry, where you can easily store past actions in ideamatrix.

Are there any plans to add such a facility?

I would be willing (as would others I suspect) to pay a little more to store past actions.

This idea is considered similar to "Trash, to recover accidentally deleted tasks", and all votes have been transferred to that idea.
