Sometimes I have a website that is related to a specific task, and then I add it in the Notes and it is hyperlinked. For general bookmarking, though, I prefer to use del.icio.us.

reeno, I'm curious if you've tried bookmarking sites such as del.icio.us?
We'd be interested in hearing why people prefer to store their bookmarks in Remember The Milk rather than using services created specifically for that purpose :)

Emily, one of my most fervent hopes for new features with Remember the Milk would be that one can end up associating URLs in an easy way -- whether it be via Textile markup, limited use of HTML, or a more cogent system (such as "attachments" of URLs to a task) -- with tasks.
The reason I, and I imagine many other people, would hope for this is that we have URLs that specifically associate to tasks. If we're going to a theater, we may want to include a bookmark to Google Maps for directions, but not include the (tremendously long) URL in our notes. Having a little URL icon or symbol next to the task upon which we could click would be wonderful.
So that's why I'd prefer to store some bookmarks -- those that are task-related -- in RTM. Storing them in del.icio.us would merely create the problem of needing to look through them for tasks. Additionally, some people use del.icio.us not for bookmark storage but for "linklog" publication on their weblog -- and thus anything saved to there gets published on their weblogs, automatically.

And, for clarification's sake, the reason why the current system is a little less pleasant than it could be is because the long URLs in some older browsers (MSIE) often push the sidebar very far down the page, beneath the tasks.
Additionally, the convenience factor would be much higher to have the text in the link.
Example 1:
Go to my girlfriend's house and surprise her tonight with this.
Example 2:
Go to my girlfriend's house tonight and surprise her with this. (Click, click, click, to look at the notes.)
See what I mean?
If you're worried about abuse (i.e. posting nasty porno/shock pics in "shared" to-do lists), perhaps you could exclusively permit the A HREF tag, but not other HTML like IMG SRC, etc.

I am a del.ico.ous user but would LOVE to use RTM as an alternative. I find I rarely use others links in delicious, and dont like the limited abilities to arrange bookmarks there. Especially now that RTM can be used with iGoogle too, I think that an RTM Bookmarking component would be great!
I envision something like the users ability to make a "List" or Tab of bookmarks. Bookmarks could be arranged into topics/subgroups. It would also be nice as already suggested, to place links in your action items.
They way I figure it, users of RTM already have 1 open window for tasks- why not combine some of the functionality of bookmarking sites within the same customized page? Thanks
