Why not add 'alarm clock' functionality - when a task becomes due (date & time), warn the user in some way (eg. flashing icon, sound, etc.)

Me four - and please allow me to add notifications and alarms on a per to-do basis. I don't want to get a message for every to-do but sometimes I do want to have specific to-dos send a message or a notification.

This idea is considered similar to "Desktop pop-up reminders", and all votes have been transferred to that idea.
