I have been trying to use the Atom feed as a Plam bridge, but so far I have been stymied by the secure feed, which is a good idea, but blocks the Atom-on-Palm solutions I can find.

I am sure I read somewhere on Mozilla forums that Calendar can be synced with Palm now. Maybe that's worth a look into. RTM>ical>Mozilla Calender>Palm.

Hope I'm thinking along the right track!

Is anyone else using some sort of Atom/iCal bridge to get RTM from their desk to their Palm?

Even some sort of automated cron-job screen scraping, HTML conversion, Plucker monster might be okay, but I lack the programming skills to roll my own, so I am curious if anyone else here has cracked this nut?

Dear Emily,

On Nov 1, 2005 you wrote that Palm Synchronization is definitely on [your] to-do list :).

My question is, now that we are almost 3 years out from that statement and as for July of this year over 2 million Palm Centros alone have been sold (let alone other Palm models both past present and future), do you think RTM will ever make good on this prediction?

Having RTM plugged in on my Gmail page, sync'd with Gcal and plugged into Thunderbird with Lightening (very, very frightenening me Galileo....) are all great.... but being able to sync with my Tasks on my Palm would just be swell.

Do let us know... and many congrats on all you successes...

I have a Centro but will not use RTM until it can sync with Centro.

I like RTM very much, but tasking on my Centro is more important to me.

Please create a MilkSync for Palm devices!! One of my uses for RTM is to keep my grocery list. Works great until I get in the store and my cell signal goes to zero. If I had a local synced copy on my phone there would be no problem...

While a sync conduit would be swell, a seperate app for the palmOS, (not unlike the ones you've made available for Blackberry, iPhone, Windows Mobile) would be great. It's a little odd that PalmOS is the only major smartphone platform missing, considering how long it has been around, the popularity of the Centro, etc.

God forbid Android gets one first!

YES TO PALM---a sync to palm would turn me into a premium RTM subscriber in a heartbeat. Until then, its a deal killer.

I use a Centro (I've been a Palm die-hard for years) and am also an avid RTM user. While there is no direct MIlkSync-to-Palm options, there are a lot of options that are, IMHO, just about as good. Here are your many many options for using RTM with PalmOS devices - especially those that have wireless internet connections like the Centro.

1. Mail yourself tasks. A special email address was generated when you created an RTM account such that you can email yourself tasks. The task itself goes into the Subject line, and you can simply enter the due date, tags, notes, List name, etc., into the message body. There is a special format for entering this extra stuff, but it is pretty straightforward. Works great with VersaMail and ChatterEMail.

2. Use the RTM mobile sites. Point Blazer or Opera to http://m.rememberthemilk.com/. Make a few bookmarks for the "Today" and "Inbox" and "New Tasks" page. In fact, you can use a free Palm program called "SharkLinks" to add icons in your Launcher that go right to these pages. Interacting with RTM via these sites works pretty well.

3. For Over-The-Air syncing with your dated tasks, use something like Google Calendar and a Palm program/service called Goosync. Follow the instructions here in the forums to have Google Calendar grab iCal feeds of your Lists, with the result being that you have a few Calenders in Google Calendar (I have a Google Calendar for Work Taks, Personal Tasks, and Client Tasks.) Then sign up for GooSync and have it Sync your Palm Calendar to your Google Calendar, which it can do automatically on a schedule, or manually when you press an on-screen button. GooSync costs $16 a year. If you use Agendus, your events can even have automatically generated icons in your "Month View." (Check out the "Vivid Agenda" feature.)

4. Rather do this with your Hotsync cable? Get a free Airset.com account. It too can grab iCal feeds from RTM (and in fact, it does so much more reliably than Google) and display them in the Airset calendar. Then follow Airset's instructions to install the Airset conduit into your Palm Desktop. Then you'll get your RTM events in your Palm Calendar every time you hotsync. Note that this only works with PalmDesktop 4.x, which is a free download. Uninstall PalmDesktop 6 first then install PalmDesktop 4. Also note that PalmDesktop 4 doesn't work reliably with Vista.

I agree that it's shameful that so many years have passed without real progress or honest comment on PalmOS versions of MilkSync (we're passing 3 years, now), but the tools I've just listed are almost as good, and are still very useful.

Sigh... add me to the list of people who won't seriously consider RTM until I can synch with my Palm TX. Alas. I'm trying out RTM but not being able to synch may cause me to switch. I don't have a smart phone yet (and if I get one it may well be the Palm Tre!) :-(

I guess I'll try to "email to yourself" that Warr mentioned but it seems a bit of a PIA to have to do that with ALL my tasks entered (a lot!) :-( foo. I wonder if there is a setting that makes all tasks a default email to yourself? Hmm I'll go check.

RTM for Palm: DO WANT

I've been able to find ways to use most of my other (web)apps (iCal/Gcal, tumblr, address book, etc.) with my Palm Centro, and would much rather use Remember the Milk then Palm's "Tasks." However, I need to be able to look at my RTM data when I'm using my Centro, so I really can't use RTM to its fullest potential. I think this probably makes us both sad, devs.

I use the Twitter interface, mobile site, and email interfaces, but it's a pain. I'm totally willing to upgrade to Pro membership if I could get a Palm version of the app. Palm Treo 700p. Also, the mobile interface needs check boxes.

Add me to the list of Palm users who desperately need some form of Palm syncing conduit. I would really love to be able to enter tasks anywhere - RTM or my Centro (Agendus) - and have them all synced so they are noted in both locations - my RTM account and on my phone.

I guess I don't understand why Palm has been left out in the cold? Is it because people see it as "old school and outdated and uncool" or what? Over 2 million Centro's sold in the first year alone can't be wrong...

You can get a one-way sync working. I use Sunrise Desktop 0.42j and use my private RSS feed URLs for each of the lists I am interested in downloading.

Ok - so its a read-only view, but that suits me fine - at least I have all my RTM lists on my Palm Tungsten E.
