Send tasks via SMS

It would be neat to be able to send an SMS text message from your phone to add a task to your Remember the Milk account. This would be a super-great help when there is no computer around or no internet access and you need to set a reminder for something; you could send a reminder to yourself via a text message.

Most cell phone providers have an SMS to email gateway. Ask your provider if they have one.

If I send an SMS to 121 (US-Cingular) and the first line is an email address, Cingular sends the message to that email address.

My phone (Moto V3 Razr) also has the functionality to format the SMS message that way for quick emailing.

It works great for me!

Even if you could send a selected tasks to a specific email address instead of to another RTM member that would help as many phones have email addresses that hook into SMS. I thought that's what the action Send To was initially, but it's not.

This idea is considered similar to "Add tasks by SMS", and all votes have been transferred to that idea.
