Thanks. Well, I only partly agree with you. OK for the great utility of the smart lists but what about the global view at one glance of all the tasks of the day with their priorities ?

I guess what I mean is that the smart lists let you recreate the overview, with all of the functionality you seek. Simply create 3 lists:

due:today

and

due:tomorrow

and

dueBefore:today

and now you have your overview, right?

I am not sure I got your point but "Work" is already a smartlist. My suggestion is that the overview section should be directly editable in order to save time from constantly switching with the task one.

I am sorry I am not being clearer.

Many people here have commented on how useful it would be to have the overview section be editable, so your suggestion there is understood and agreed upon.

What I am saying is that in the Tasks view, you can use a trio of smart lists to display the same breakdowns that you find on the overview. If you do this with the smart lists, you can then interact with the tasks on each list, accomplishing your desire of editing task in those views, even if not doing so in the actual overview.
