However, the problem is that it is a hassle to type them, especially when there is a number of them attached to a given task.

Would it be possible to have an assitance (scrolling list of previouly used tags, suggestions based on text, or other creative idea?

... and by the way, maybe a way to use (customisable) shortcuts for often used words in task descriptions?

A few general-use terms could even trigger graphic display, like MSN messenger's (t) to display a telephone icon.

This idea is considered similar to "Show a dropdown list when you click on the tags field, then filter the list as you type", and all votes have been transferred to that idea.
