What to do with my backup file?

I've read the help section and exported my backup file, but when I open up the file it's just an unreadable and unuseable mess of text and code.

How do I actually make use of the file if I was to lose my data and need to make use of this backup file?

It's an iCalendar file, which you can open in any iCalendar-supporting application.

Currently there's no import process, so it's not possible to turn around and use that file directly for import. However, you can import a list of tasks via email.

Are there any plans for an import from iCal process? Since there is really no way of getting an iCal file in a format that can be emailed in it seems rather pointless. A backup doesn't help much if you can't recreate what you had from the file.
