Managing the priority of whole projects

I use lists for projects. Within a list, each task might have its own priority. I identify next actions by going through each list during my periodic review and tagging next actions as I see fit.

Sometimes I find that some entire projects need to be temporarily given priority over other entire projects. In my present system I could either change the priority setting of every task, which seems very awkward, or I could remember not to set any next actions in the projects that are temporarily lower priority, but that requires me to keep things in my head instead of RTM.

What I'm wondering is whether I can do this more efficiently in RTM.

You could search for all next actions in the newly important project (e.g. list:Project tag:na) select all (e.g. press 'a'), and change the priority (e.g. press '1').

Would something like that work?

Yes to some extent. Maybe, because of the way I have it set up, it would be easiest after all just to stop setting next actions in the project that's suspended. :-)
