Can lots of completed tasks cause problems?

It is going on for sometime. Now I have almost a thousand completed tasks.Will it not cause a problem (like slowing RTM down) if I continue to produce dozens of completed tasks daily?

They do not bother me I only worried about possible system problems. What if I have 2000 completed tasks? 20 000? Can RTM handle them efficiently or do I have to delete them manually (which would be bothersome)?

With newer browsers (e.g., Firefox 3, Safari 3, Opera 9.5), you shouldn't have any problems with lots of completed tasks, but we're always working on optimizing things.
