problem deleting one occurence of repeating tasks

In the past, I've been able to delete the overdue occurrences and select "Continue repeating" so that the task still stays in the system. However, this morning when I did this, all the repeating tasks were deleted, and by the time I noticed it, the chance to undo had passed.
Has this happened to anyone else?

Heh. Seems to have been a display issue (unless Bob came and fixed my files while my back was turned); now when I look for the tasks, they're there again.
