secondary to-do lists... or sub list?

(i know that notes are an option, its not exactly what i'm looking for)

As you mention with notes, there are a few different workarounds you may use currently. Aside from notes another popular one is to tag a group of tasks with the "project" or "major task" so they can be referred to in group.
