I also tried SMS with a Verizon phone number. I've used two formats:
AAA-BBB-CCCC
amd
1-AAA-BBB-CCCC
and neither seems to work.

I removed the phone number and replaced it with the e-mail address of my phone. That works, but there's a different issue.

When the reminder appears on my phone, the task detail line is missing. So instead of seeing:

1. Detail here (10:00AM)

which DOES appear in my e-mail reminder, I see:

1. (spaces here) (10:00AM)
