There's an easy way to create a file which is a link to an internet location. Same trick works for safari and for firefox.

Go to the web page that you would like to link to. Drag the small cow icon next to the URL address and drop it onto the toolbar.

That's it. I'm sure there are some more creative ways to use the site with OS X.

If you would like to give it a nicer icon, find an imge eg. using the logo on each page. Find an image, control-click and copy the image.

Then drag the link from the address bar as before, but this time drop it into a finder window - eg. your home directory, or desktop.

To change the icon, select the file that you have created, and 'get info' (cmd-I) . Click on the icon in the top left and select paste (cmd-V).

Now drag this file to the dock.

The cow logo doesn't seem to be available without the text anywhere obvious. I think it make the nicest icon, if you have time to crop the image first.

For others in this thread, you can grab the image by itself here: http://www.macgamesandmore.com/rememberthemilk.jpg

Thank you for finding that - it's cleaner than the crop I did previously for this purpose.

Maybe Emily has a huge, hi-res cow we could use?

Cool idea :) We'll have to try this out and see if we can make an appropriately sized image for the dock.
