RTM box keeps returning No Tasks iin Gmail (Chrome)

I've been using RTM for quite some time in Gmail on Chrome.

This morning the list keeps disappearing. The RTM add in is still there at the right hand side of the screen but it refreshes after a few minutes to say "No tasks".

I've tried changing the list from a list to a smart tag to all tasks etc. They do get listed and are happily there. But a few minutes later they all disappear and I'm left with "No tasks" again.

Has anyone got a suggestion as how to correct this? It has only started being a problem from 7am GMT and was working fine at 18.00GMT yesterday.

I use the extension in Chrome (current version 26.0.1410.64) and it keeps refreshing itself and not showing any tasks. It doesn't matter if it's All Tasks, a list, a smart list, a tag or a location, it still happens. I change the task view and the tasks come up, but when it refreshes it shows "No tasks".

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the extension, but it still happens. Any ideas?

I've added this to our list to investigate. In the meantime, reloading Gmail should work. If that's an option, it should work to log out of Remember The Milk and back in, then to refresh the add-in.

For a few weeks now the RTM add-in for gmail (chrome PC and Mac) has not been refreshing. I use a smart list as my default and changes made on from the web client/ mobile are not reflected on the gmail add-in until i change lists in the add in. Additionally, when i postpone tasks from the add-in they are not removed from "todays" heading in the add-in. The refresh button at the bottom of the page doesnt help either.

Anyone else having update/refresh issues with the add-in?

Here's an additional datapoint: I updated Firefox to 17 in a virtual machine with no other extensions and then added the RTM extension but it still doesn't work. It's version 39026338 and says it's supported by RTM for Gmail.

I sniffed the traffic and it appears that the extension is able to retrieve the task list successfully but is unable to display it for some reason.

First of all I think that RTM is a great product. My problem is that I live in Google Apps Mail 9 hours a day and heavily rely on the integration. When it works it's one of the best productivity tools I have, but due to how frequently Google does code pushes I find myself in a lot of situations where the integration breaks. You're always good about getting it back up in a reasonable time, but any downtime is lost productivity for me.

Is there a long term plan for doing a more indepth integration that doesn't rely as heavily on the greasemonkey? I use other Google Mail / Chrome Extension integrations (for instance Attachments.me). These don't have this issue, so it seems like there are ways to do it.

Another possibility is do you know if there is any options in Google Apps to freeze the Gmail code base? Can I do this on a local level by just not logging out of Gmail?

II have the same problem but only in Chrome (work has moved onto google and I have am set up on that with the gmail version at work fully supported:

When I go into an e-mail to create a task I don't get the option to create task.

Meanwhile in Firefox I have that option so can merrily add things there (I use Firefox for my home e-mail) so I can see what I should be doing but sadly it is not available in Chrome.

Any suggestions (apart from using firefox as my office are encouraging us to use Chrome so that they only need to support Chrome and not other browsers)?

First, thanks very much! :)

The Gmail Browser Add-on stores preferences per account so it's possible that the task pane is simply hidden for your work account. To expand it, click on the small arrow on the right side of your Inbox.

It's also possible that your two Gmail accounts are using different versions of Gmail. You may want to verify that they are both using 34356667 (or another supported version).

If the add-on seems to be functioning properly but the Tasks pane isn't being displayed, be sure that it isn't hidden. When the add-on is hidden, you'll see a thin bar on the right side of your screen with a small arrow pointing towards your Inbox. Click on the arrow to expand the Tasks pane.

Gmail extension in Chrome

For some reason I cannot get the RTM task pane to show up in my gmail. I installed the extension properly in chrome and see a task tab in my gmail settings menu which says that I am using the correct version of gmail. The 'star to add a task' feature works fine.

Anyone have any suggestions or ideas? I went through the troubleshooting tips and none of them work. FYI - I am using google apps with my own domain. Thanks!

The Gmail add-on works in Apps accounts also. As Brendan mentioned above, it sounds like you have an unsupported Gmail version though. You may want to check yours and contact us if your version isn't listed.

You can use the Android app to synchronize your tasks with your Nexus 7.

I am an add-on to OP with my own newbie issues..... I use google apps name@domain.com for my gmail/google access. I have the command under my "more" tab to add to tasks OR create an event. will RTM work for me to add tasks?
also I am using a Nexus 7 for remote and would like to be able to sync both devices of course.

The Settings > Services page will only list third party applications that have been authorized on your account, so you won't see our Gmail Browser Add-on listed there.

If you've verified that you're using a supported version of Gmail and you're still unable to add tasks by starring them, can you contact us via email?

The RTM task list is appearing on the right.

I notice that from within the RTM website, under Settings > Services, that Google is not shown as having permission to interact - could this be the problem?

"You haven't given any third-party services permission to interact with your Remember The Milk account."

I can't find a way of giving permission to the Google account.

Can anyone help?

At this time, if you load Gmail while you're not logged in to Remember The Milk, the add-on will be collapsed by default. Thanks for your feedback on this. I'll pass this on to our development team for review.

However, if you're finding that you're often logged out of the site automatically, please be sure that cookies are enabled and that none of your browser extensions are interfering with cookies from the site. If this doesn't appear to be the problem, please contact us so we can take a closer look with you.

Periodically, I am automatically logged out of RTM. When I am logged out, Gmail collapses the right panel where RTM would be. I can use the arrow to open the panel and see the message that I have been logged out and I need to log back in.

The problem is that while I love RTM, once the panel collapses and I don't see it, I can forget about it.
Would it be possible to force the panel to stay open all the time? At least if I see it reminding me to log back in, I will do it.

It sounds like you're using the Google Calendar Daily Gadget. You can remove this with the following steps:

1. Open Google Calendar's settings
2. Click on Calendars
3. Under "Other Calendars", find the calendar called "Remember The Milk"
4. Click Unsubscribe next to this calendar
