If things are still not working as they should be, could you please type/paste the following in your address bar when using Gmail:

javascript:alert(GLOBALS[2])

That should return a number telling us what your Gmail version is.

If you're having an issue, please check our status page to see if your Gmail version is supported. If it's not supported, things will likely not work. If it's not listed, it's likely unsupported and please contact us (details on the status page). If you can't find the Tasks tab in your Gmail Settings, it's likely unsupported and please contact us.

(abtusa, you'll notice yours isn't listed yet which is why it's not supported.)

is there any workaround to show settings pane? I've just started to use RTM and it would be really nice to set up all stuff. Right now I can't add task connected to specified e-mail :-/

I've installed the Chrome extension and nothing happens. The RTM pane doesn't show up and there is no task tab in settings.

@andre.lang, @ravenb: How are you able to get your version of Gmail if the task tab doesn't show up?

My version is 15929128 (language US english). Everything works fine except tasks pane at settings. therefore I can not move emails to tasks by starring them.

It seems each time I install RTM I get a gmail version that conflicts with it. It there a way to change revert to earlier gmail versions? I'd prefer RTM to work over an updated gmail

I have found an interesting phenomenon that might be of help to the Remember The Milk Support.
On Firefox 3.6.3 (Japanese), if I reload the Settings, the Tasks tab,
which is originally gone, appears--the result seems repeatable.
"Create task" does not appear in the More Actions dropdown even if the email message is reloaded, though.
My current Gmail version is "16030065."

No, there's no way to revert or to otherwise pick your Gmail versions. Sorry for the inconvenience in any unsupported versions.

The problem is now worse that usual. Not only does the RTM pane not appear, but it (uniquely) breaks Gmail, making it nearly unbearable to use. Sending mail, changing from Inbox to another, etc., results in a "Sending" or "Loading" indicator that never leaves and the window never changes, until I manually refresh the window. When I disable RTM for Gmail--which has been dysfunctional for me for months--Gmail works as it had until yesterday.

16521613 not working

No sign of RTM, no Tasks setting in the settings list..


It worked fine until a couple of days ago, except that I often had to selects Settings then reload in order to see the RTM pane at all, which was odd but usable. This no longer the case, though.

Okay. Got it to work.

I just went to drop menu in Chrome for customize and control Google Chrome (the wrench icon). I chose extensions. I clicked 'update extension' for the RTM extension. I went back to Gmail and reloaded the page. Task pane now appears on the right. Tasks tab now shows up in the Gmail settings.

Google made some rather significant changes to Gmail this week, and we're still working to get our extension fully working with this new version of Gmail. We'll post on the status page once it's fully supported -- thanks for your patience!

The add-on is not compatible when the "right-side chat" lab feature is enabled. The rtm pane will be hover over the right-side chat pane or disappear altogether.

As we mention on our status page, the extension is not compatible with some Gmail Labs features, namely the Right-Side Chat or Labels. This is separate from the version changes Gmail undergoes.

If I refresh my settings screen I can get the tasks setting link. I can reproduce the error and said fix.
