Feature request: Locale plugin

alerque Pro says:

I would really like to see the RTM Android app include a plugin for Locale. This would add a lot of flexibility including solving some other feature requests I see on this forum including selective notifications by location.

Locale includes an extensive set of buitin and pluggable ways of triggering actions. These include proximity warnings such as RTM sort of does on it's own using locations, but it is much more powerful in that each location can be edited on a map, have multiple zones in one location, and have different radiuses.

Also, there are many other triggers such as time, hardware conditions, network availability, people that call, etc.

Triggering task list reminders based on these things would greatly add to the versatility of my task management.

Astrid does that.................
Based on your location it reminds you of all tasks with a specific tag.
I use it combined with the native RTM App. Would be better though if I could just use one app....

Second this one.

Locale trigger -> on/off notification sounds.
Locale trigger -> check given list, if there are any uncompleted tasks, send notification. For example: I'm in the shop for bread, but if I have also milk on my 'shopping' list in RTM I will get notification. This way I will always remember the milk :D.

I know this might not be the correct forum for this question, but I've been intrigued by Locale and was wondering how folks' battery life is using it, and which ways they use it? For instance, do you leave your GPS on all the time for the most accuracy? I find that I was using it mostly to turn on/off wifi in known areas (home/work). If I didn't use GPS, my location was too prone to error using cell towers. I know I can expand the "circle" around the pin on the map, but still.

I have both GPS and wifi on all time, bluetooth off.

Wifi shouldn't take much battery. As far as I know it is disabled while phone goes to sleep (might be wrong though). I also charge phone at any occasion, it's plugged in in my home, work, car, but even without it it lasts from morning till evening with no problem (I have HTC G1, standard battery, don't play games :) ).

Just create a list for your widget and use the locatedWithin search parameter. I have a list for my widget with the search terms list:Inbox AND locatedWithin:"1 mile"

Works great.
