There are notes (as you said, it's a "MUST have"):
- Select a task
- Press menu
- Select "Add note"

If you already have a note, it will show below the task detail when you select the task with 2 options at the bottom of the screen: edit & delete.

You can see notes with a task but there is no way to add them in the android app

Yes there is. Follow the instructions above.

The confusion is probably coming from the fact that once you click "Edit Task", there is no option. The option appears on the task details screen.

You can also change the default fields available when you add a new task. Settings/Tasks/Default Fields. Add notes in there and they will always show as an option when adding a new task.

pastorhudson, what you describe is EXACTLY what should be allowed, but, sadly, isn't.

Settings/Tasks/Default Fields does NOT have notes in it. So as far as I can tell, there is no way to add a note when you add a new task. You have to add the task WITHOUT a note first, THEN you can follow the instructions above to add the note AFTER the task has already been created. Very VERY clumsy. :(

there is no add note function under setting. :( (Android with HTC HERO)

My guess is that the interaction between notes and tasks is a function of the database design. I don't think that "notes" is a separate field in the same table as the rest of the task fields. Rather, notes appear to be housed in a separate table with a unique link to join them back to their respective tasks. It's probably set up this way to allow the notes to be much more flexible.

But, yes... it is very clumsy... especially on a mobile platform!

Very cool! Didn't know that was there. It would be VERY very nice if the task in the list had a small icon to signify that there is a note attached.

So bottom line is you have to create a task then go back into it to create notes?
Is there any plan to change this, enable note creation when creating a task?

What about Notes/Memo just for organzing notes (unrelated to tasks), similar to Tooldedo notes?
