I do have some questions:

- will the today-centric startup screen be made configurable? Most of my tasks don't have a due date, they're just next actions for certain projects (as in GTD). Ideally I'd land on the today screen if there are due tasks, if not I'd be redirected to my 'NextActions' smart list.
- with respect to the widget, here it would be cool to be able to do the same thing, i.e today and overdue tasks + entries from a smart list.

Because as it's now, both my widget and the startup screen are almost always empty.

The strengths of RTM come from the use of tags and smart lists, and they don't come to their value hidden as they are in the app. A customisable widget would make the RTM app a dream! A tasklist thats hard to find doesn't help me, I need to see it even without looking for it. As it is now the widget is more like a simpler version of the calendar, as the calendar is where I put date specific tasks.

You can change the default home list and due date in the settings. It doesn't have to default to items that are due today. That may solve part of your problem.

As far as the widget goes, I totally agree. The widget definitely needs to be configurable.

Great work RTM theme! This is getting interesting.

the best way is to let users specify a search for the widget.

btw: more variants for space would be also nice, since 3x3 is nearly most of the screen.

and another feature request: the title bar should be optional so users can safe space ...

I think that those settings are applied for default list and due date for new tasks, not for the initial screen

But like the peeps above, I'd like to see configurable widget sizes (for me, 2x4, 3x4 and 4x4 would be great), and possibly some kind of skin options (or transparency?) so it sits bitter with the slick looking widgets on the Hero/Sense UI Android phones.
