Moving items out of inbox

Is there a way to move tasks out of the Inbox?

For example, while I'm on the road I email myself a task "Call Bob on Friday about X". When I get back to the office I apply a label and location so it shows up in my @work Smart List. I don't want it in the inbox anymore. I consider the inbox to be more of a dumping ground for tasks until I can go through and organize them during my daily/weekly reviews.

Is this possible? Is there another way to do this?

Yes, you can move a task by selecting it, then choosing "Move to…" from the More Actions menu at the top.
